Memorial Day

I am proud to be an American.

Several of the people in my company were sworn in yesterday as American citizens. They took the test, waited in the lines and participated in the ceremony. Along with approximately 1,000 other people, they took the pledge of allegiance to this country. It's amazing how many people really want to be here - yet, so many others put us down. I know that we have our share of problems, but I couldn't imagine living anywhere else.

I have traveled to many foreign countries and while the beauty and history are at times overwhelming, I couldn't wait to get home.

"Where the stars and stripes, and the eagle's fly."

Have a safe and freedom-filled Memorial Day!

The Outlaws

Not too much to write about lately. Cpt J has been flying a lot and I have been swamped with work.

The outlaws are coming to visit on Saturday (this is how I refer to my MIL and FIL). That is always interesting. I couldn't be anymore different from Cpt J's family. Complete, polar opposites. Our visits consist of lots of alcohol consumption and usually several arguments. Now keep in mind, Cpt J and I are very compatible, I swear his mom got knocked up by the milk man. It's not us that argue... it's him and his dad, his dad and mom, his mom and I. I never argue with his dad. I kinda like the old geezer, but I will never admit that out loud. That family is so freakin' opinionated and they think that everyone else around them is stupid. His mom has mentioned that I am a neat freak, I spend too much money, I work too much... why aren't I pregnant yet? People, it's a nightmare.

So, they are permitted to visit for one night. That is my limit. I am way too stressed out this week to deal with chaos in my home.

Luckily I have the best dog in the world that gives me an excuse to escape for a walk.

More to follow...

Mohawks

I am so not happy right now.

All the boys got mohawks.

Thank God it won't last as most of this "group" of immature men are pilots and the company won't allow it. Seriously, is this what guys do when they are off? Sit around, drink beer, play Wii and shave their heads? Honestly, there are 7 married men sitting at K's house, sunburned, drunk and partially bald!!

At least I am not alone in this insanity. I am not sure if camera phones are a blessing or not, but at least it helped to warn all of us before we get home!

Here's to rubbing stubble!

Pouting

CptJ brought it my attention lat night that I know what "buttons" to push when I want attention. I have always figured that behavior just comes naturally and that there is no "real" thought ever put into it. Well, last night I was pouting. Yes, pouting. Turns out CptJ has an overnight that puts a slight damper on some plans we have. I let him know that he was now ruining MY plans, and what was I going to do, and blah blah.

Maybe I am spoiled?

Typically I get what I want, and when I when I don't - I either get it myself or "pout" until I do.

Did I mention I am over 30 years old?

Ok, so yes I am spoiled. I am a daddy's girl and my mom agrees with everything I say. My husband calls me "princess" and our friend's tease me all the time about being shi shi.

Did I mention I love it??
